Do I need Tailscale?
Yes, on both computers, signed in to the same account. Shotify talks only over your own Tailscale network, and Tailscale’s personal plan is free.
Does it only work at home?
No. Tailscale connects your computers wherever they are, so the clipboard follows you to the office or a café, as long as both are online.
What gets sent, and when?
Copying sends a tiny offer to the other computer. Images and files cross the network only when an app pastes them. Short text, up to 64 KB with its formatting, goes straight away so it still pastes if the other computer is asleep.
Which versions of macOS and Windows?
A Mac with macOS 15.7 or later, and a PC with Windows 10 or 11.
Can I move my licence to another computer?
Yes. One licence covers 4 computers, Macs and PCs together. To move one, deactivate the old computer first: Shotify, Settings, Licence on a Mac, or the tray menu on a PC.
